RMN de campo bajo analyzer is one of the most prominent new techniques in core analysis and reservoir logging. Although a lot of work has been done in conventional reservoir characteristic analysis, the application of low field NMR analyzer in carbonate reservoir, heavy oil and bitumen formation is still rare. A range of low field NMR analyzers can be used for a range of experimental projects. The experiment will combine core analysis tools such as super centrifugation and core flooding systems to place multiple cores under different asphalt/oil, gas, and water saturation conditions.
X-ray tomography will also be used for parallel core features. The overall objective is to study the applicability of new low field NMR logging tools in analyzing the characteristics of heavy oil and bitumen formations and to test and describe the theory of heavy oil evolution at different stages of production. Specific technical objectives include understanding the relationship between viscosity and NMR parameters.
Of interest is the relationship between NMR properties and asphalt and solvent mixtures. This mixture is particularly important in solvent-related heavy oil and bitumen recovery processes such as steam. Diffusion of different solvents in different asphalt layers was studied by NMR relaxation method. The mechanism of in-situ asphaltene deposition and the upgrading ability of various solvents were tested by viscosity and NMR. Mass transfer calculation will be helpful to evaluate the field application of low field NMR analyzer.
